What's New In Pop Culture?

10 days after releasing her 10th studio album “Midnights”, Taylor Swift made music history, becoming the first artist to occupy all of the top 10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. This comes after the new album received praise from many music critics, currently holding a score of 85 on Metacritic. On November 1, Swift also announced her 2023 international tour, "The Eras Tour".

Kanye West is, for once, receiving the consequences of his actions. Following anti-semitic comments, the rapper and his clothing/shoe brand have been dropped by several large brands, including Adidas, Gap, Balenciaga, TJ Maxx, and Footlocker. Madame Tussauds London has also removed West’s wax statue from public display, and JP Morgan Chase has closed the account associated with his "Yeezy" brand.

Rapper Takeoff, of the hip-hop group Migos, was tragically shot and killed in Houston on November 1. Many of Takeoff's fellow celebrities paid tribute to him on social media, including Keke Palmer, Chloë Bailey, and Drake.

Rapper Aaron Carter was found dead in his home on November 5, at the age of 34. Carter rose to fame at the turn of the millennium, releasing multiple hip-hop albums and appearing in shows such as "Lizzy McGuire". Among those who paid tribute to the late star were his brother Nick Carter and actress Hilary Duff.
